SCOPE
1.1 Scope. This specification defines hardcopy production
requirements for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency
(NGA) Littoral Planning Chart (LPC), which will replace the
existing Combat Chart.
1.2 Purpose. The purpose of this specification is to assure
uniformity of treatment among all elements including symbols,
accuracy, layout, content, and design needed for the
production of the Littoral Planning Chart as related to
tactical military operations covering coastal regions.
Littoral Planning Charts provide an approximate 50/50 division
between land and water, and provide hydrographic and
topographic information in those coastal areas.
1.3 Classification. The classification of the Littoral Planning
Chart will contain charts that are oriented North-South or
East-West. Some Littoral Planning Charts that will have a
Skewed orientation.

2.1 General. The documents listed in this section are specified
in sections 3, 4, or 5 of this specification. This section
does not include documents cited in other sections of this
specification or recommended for additional information or as
examples. Every effort has been made to ensure the
completeness of this list. Users are cautioned that they must
meet all specified requirements of documents cited in sections
3, 4, or 5 of this specification.

2.2.1 Specifications, standards, and handbooks. The following
specification, standards, and handbooks form part of this
document to the extent specified herein. Unless otherwise
specified, the issues of these documents are those cited in the
solicitation or contract.
